The full trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman is now out, and it looks like an exciting turn away from previous glitzy movies on the Snow White myth: this is no fairytale, it’s a dark and almost gothic film about ending the regime of an evil queen. With fantastic art direction in the trailer, it looks like the film will have some brilliant ways of imagining how the queen uses the black arts to maintain her stranglehold over the country. CharlizeĀ Theron chews the scenery in the trailer alone, so there’s high hopes for her performance in the rest of the film. Kristen Stewart stars in the role of Snow White, a gutsy and brave leader of a rebel force.
The trailer looks promising. Can’t wait for it to release. It’s quite in the spirit of the original fairy tale, not the bowdlerised version we now know.

It does look good, doesn’t it? I think you’re right, it is more in keeping with the spirit of the original fairytale, which is a very dark and gothic story. Have you seen the trailer for Mirror Mirror? Quite a different take on the story from Snow White & the Hunstman, but it might be a more child-friendly version! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCdMHUx59mQ

It looks very promising. I am a bit sceptical about Kristen Stewart as of now. But Charlize Theron — now she is the one to watch out for! Oh Mirror Mirror! Yes, of course I was thinking about it. I saw the trailer for the first time last week. A friend memorably put it, “Julia Roberts is not evil enough.” However, it *is* a different interpretation. So itās worth watching after all.

Yes, I think Mirror, Mirror is very different in approach, and has a much lighter tone. I have to say that it’s Charlize Theron who impresses me most as an actress in the trailers so far… she could be a real show stealer!
