Here’s Cecil Beaton’s fantastic portrait of the Queen Mother when she was young. I just love the way that the sunlight bursts out through the trees above, giving us a sense of what a spectacular summer day it was when she took this walk in the park, decked out in pearls.
You can almost see the color of the dress and imagine the green leaves and the sun. It’s a beautiful photo. I especially love that parasol.

I would give my right arm for a parasol like that. They just don’t make them the same way these days.
