The Queen, accompanied by Prince Philip and their granddaughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, attended the race at Epsom this afternoon.
Wearing a mint green dress with matching hat, the Queen looked pleased to be visiting one of the country’s leading horse races. The Queen has been an avid horsewoman since she was a child, and takes a keen interest in all things equine. When she is not too occupied with her day job, H. M. takes an active role in the selection and breeding of the royal stable, and enters promising horses in races across the globe.
The Queen’s horse didn’t take the winning title home today, though. This afternoon’s race was won by Ruler of the World.
My award for best performance at Epsom goes to the talented individual who matched the fabric running through the floral garlands of the royal box to the shade of mint the Queen was wearing. A simply stunning finishing touch.
