When I was a child we used to have a pair of song thrushes nesting at the very back of the garden among all the overgrown old trees and hedges. As the years went on, I saw them less and less often and the garden grew quieter. I didn’t really notice the absence of the song thrush from our garden because it happened so gradually. Bit by bit, they just went away. But this weekend we had a beautiful song thrush appear at our birdfeeding area, and I realised just how long it has been since we’ve seen one in our garden. I really hope this beautiful bird considers making our garden his home… and who knows? Maybe we’ll get to hear him sing one day 🙂

We have wood thrushes that look similar, I wonder if they are the same. One of my favorite sounds is the song of the wood thrush.

How lovely! I love it when I hear a thrush sing. I’m sure that ours will give us a song sometime soon 🙂
